Beloved Betty White, who passed away on December 31, 2021 just 18 days shy of her 100th birthday, will be remembered by NBC in the one-hour special Celebrating Betty White: America’s Golden Girl.” It is slated for Monday, January 31 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC (and will be available for streaming on the the net’s digital arm, Peacock, one day later).
White, of course, was a fixture on NBC as ditsy Rose Nyland on sitcom The Golden Girls, which aired from 1985 to 1992 and resulted an Emmy victory for White (one of her five primetime wins) for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Earlier in her career, she was a double Emmy-winner in the category of Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of the relentlessly perky but comically wicked “Happy Homemaker,” Sue Ann Nivens, on The Mary Tyler Moore.
More recently, she was back on NBC, and was awarded with another Emmy in process, in 2010 for guest hosting veteran Saturday Night Live.
Sadly, White was the last surviving member of the MTM and The Golden Girls casts.

According to the press release, Celebrating Betty White: America’s Golden Girl will include clips that best capture White’s “irreverent tone, spirit and impeccable comedic timing that are a hallmark of her decades-long career.” Friends and stars will reminisce about the legendary White.
