The runway models in Sunday’s Prada show at Milan fashion week included some famous faces — the last to walk being Jeff Goldblum.
The 69-year-old actor has based a career on portrayals of somewhat nerdy scientists — in the “Jurassic Park” and “Independence Day” franchises, and “The Fly” — but in real life he’s a fashion hipster with an affection for Prada. In the show he modeled an overcoat with mohair bands.
Kyle MacLachlan, 62, was first to appear. The “Twin Peaks” and “Sex and the City” star wore a long coat over powder blue pants and shirt.
The other Hollywood actors in the show:
- Thomas Brodie-Sangster, 31, known for “The Queen’s Gambit,” “Maze Runner,” “Love Actually.”
- Asa Butterfield, 24, “Sex Education” and “Hugo.”
- Louis Partridge, 18, “Enola Holmes” and “Paddington 2.”
- Ashton Sanders, 26, “Moonlight.”
- Filippo Scotti, 22, “The Hand of God.”
- Damson Idris, 30, “Snowfall.”
- Tom Mercier, 29, “We Are Who We Are.”
- Jaden Michael, 18, “Colin in Black and White,” “Wonderstruck.”
The Italian fashion giant was presenting its Fall-Winter 2022 menswear collection, which offered a futuristic vision of workplace attire.
The cameos marked an upbeat note to a fashion week that has seen several labels — including Milan regular Armani — cancel shows or revert to digital-only presentations amid a surge in COVID-19 cases across Europe. But Prada went ahead with its show at the Fondazione Prada complex, sending models down a sci-fi-inspired tunnel towards the zig zag runway.
