Deiveson Figueiredo promises KO win over Brandon Moreno at UFC 270

Deiveson Figueiredo predicts a violent knockout of Brandon Moreno ahead of UFC 270 trilogy.

The UFC men’s flyweight gold is on the line in the third chapter of the epic trilogy between UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno, and former champion Deiveson Figueiredo. It all goes down at UFC 270, from Anaheim, CA on Jan. 22, on pay-per-view.

Figueiredo had stern words when speaking through a translator at his UFC media availability during UFC 270 fight week. When asked, Figueiredo stated that his new training routine was much different, since working with Hendry Cejudo at Fight Ready MMA.

“It’s going to be different now,” Figueiredo said. “I was far away from my family. Four months, far away from my family. Training hard at Fight Ready with Eric Albarracin, and Henry Cejudo. I focused on this fight. I’m going to show another Deiveson Figueiredo.”

When asked about the benefits of training at a new gym, Figueiredo explained the changes that were made after his most recent loss to Moreno at UFC 263.

“What I do now is very professional,” Figueiredo said. “This is the baseline. We have the best coaches at Fight Ready, the best nutrition. The P.I. took care of my food for about four months. I feel in the best shape of my life. That’s what I can say, it’s professional.”

Deiveson Figueiredo promises KO win over Brandon Moreno at UFC 270

Prior to his draw with Moreno at UFC 256, Figueiredo was on a five-fight winning streak. A streak that included a first-round submission win over Alex Perez, as well as back-to-back stoppage wins against Joseph Benavidez.

When asked about his prediction on the fight at UFC 270, Figueiredo said he hoped to hand Moreno his first knock-out loss, just as he handed Benavidez his first submission loss.

“I want to be the first guy to knock out Brandon Moreno,” Figueiredo said. “I promised this with Benavidez. They said nobody could submit Benavidez, I submit Benavidez. Now I’m gonna knock out Brandon Moreno.”

Figueiredo did not mince words when asked about his opponent’s relationship with his current coaches at Fight Ready.

“Everybody knows Moreno at fight ready, he trained at fight ready,” Figueiredo said. “He trained with Cejudo, he trained with all the coaches over there.”

Moreno was a member of Team Benavidez during The Ultimate Fighter Season 24 back in 2016, after Cejudo chose fellow flyweight Alexandre Pantoja, sending Moreno over to the rival side of future opponent Benavidez.

Figueiredo followed up his comments on Moreno, by stating he considers Saturday’s trilogy bout with the Mexican champion, to be a chance at getting revenge on Moreno on behalf of his coach.

“It’s going to be a pleasure to take off Brandon Moreno’s head and give it to Cejudo because he betrayed Cejudo,’ Figueiredo said. “Brandon Moreno lived in Cejudo’s house for about two years, and after that, he go to Benavidez to go train and help Benavidez to fight against Cejudo. Now’s the time for revenge. I’m gonna take the head off Brandon Moreno, and give it to Cejudo, as revenge for betraying Cejudo.”

Figueiredo is currently lined at sportsbooks such as Wynnbet as the +155 underdog in the trilogy about against Moreno at UFC 270.
