Saweetie Has Convinced Me to Shave My Hair Off and Dye It Pink

Right before Christmas 2021, Saweetie shocked fans with a bleach-blonde buzz cut. Since then, the California rapper’s lengthy wigs have been nowhere to be seen. She’s been giving her buzz cut the press tour it truly deserves, but it seems the hair changes aren’t done because the star’s blonde buzz cut is now a bright pink color. 

Saweetie’s new hair color was revealed in an Instagram carousel she posted to celebrate her new collaboration with MAC. In the first picture, she is sitting on a table in a black silk dress and robe with lace gloves, grape-colored thigh-high boots, and silver jewelry. You can’t miss the bold pink color on her head. It’s not quite bright enough to be considered neon, nor is it light enough to be a pastel color. We’d call it bubblegum pink. 

In the beginning of 2020, it was clear that pink had become the it color for hair. We saw celebrities like Ciara and Jennifer Lopez jump on the trend and try the bright hue. Perhaps they inspired Saweetie to try the color, or maybe she wanted to try it just because? She’s not exactly new to the world of bright hair.  

Though she looked great as a blonde, this color change gives her short cut a fresh new look. We wonder whether this color will be short-lived or if it will become the star’s new signature shade. Regardless, we’re here for it all. But if she is planning to change the color anytime soon, we’d love to see a cool cobalt blue on her head.
