Pop quiz: Who is your favorite celebrity couple comprised of a dashing Brit and a stunning American actress (or former actress)? The Law of Celebrity Statistics (which, full disclosure, is a law I just made up rn) says there’s a 99.9999% chance that your answer was either “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle” or “Tom Holland and Zendaya.” And, if you happen to be a fan of both couples (which the totally-made-up-for-the-purposes-of-this-post Law of Celebrity Statistics also predicts is the case), then you’ll definitely want to keep reading because this foursome apparently had an impressively under-the-radar meeting recently.
It seems as though Harry and Meghan are, like literally millions of other people around the world, huge fans of Tom and Zendaya. Unlike most of Tom and Zendaya’s fans, however, Harry and Meghan have the social clout and connections to turn that fandom into a face-to-face hangout. According to a new report from the Daily Mail‘s Richard Eden, the Sussexes “contacted Holland and Zendaya out of the blue and asked to meet.”
According to a source that Eden describes as “one of Harry’s old friends,” Tom and Zendaya were not expecting the invite (but, to be fair, who would be?) and had no idea what the Sussexes might want to meet with them about.
“Tom and Zendaya were rather bemused, from what I hear,” the Daily Mail source said. “Tom had never met Harry or spoken to him in his life, so didn’t know what they wanted.”
Of course, as famous as Tom and Zendaya are, they’re still “just like us” enough to have the same reaction we would have to Harry and Meghan’s invitation—which, in case it isn’t obvious, means they said yes (at least according to the Daily Mail source, that is).
The source’s intel about the meeting—or the intel they were willing to share, anyway—ended there. Eden suggested that Harry and Meghan “may have hoped to persuade [Tom and Zendaya] to take part in one of their media projects,” but didn’t offer any concrete information about what the super-secret meetup was about.
Whatever the meeting was about, we can all agree that the fact that Harry, Meghan, Tom, and Zendaya (you know, arguably four of the most famous and closely-watched humans on earth at the moment) were able to pull off the reported covert rendezvous at all is an impressive feat in and of itself, right?
