Food recalls are issued when a product could cause harm or damage to individuals if eaten. Ikea has recalled one of its popular products this week due to health fears.
Ikea is recalling its own brand Huvudroll Vegetable Balls because they contain plastic.
The company has found traces of the material in the product.
This means the vegetable balls could cause harm to people if eaten.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) usually publishes the latest food recalls on its website.

Of the Ikea food recall, the FSA said: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it.
“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
“For more information, contact 0203 645 0010 or IKEA.co.uk.”
The organisation went on to explain what a food recall means, saying: “If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product).
DON’T MISS:
“The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.
“In some cases, a ‘Food Alert for Action’ is issued.
“This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.”
Ikea has also advised customers what to do if they have already bought the product.
The packs of Huvudroll Vegetable Balls that are being recalled are 1kg in size and have a best before date of October 26, 2022.
But Ikea is not the only company to recall a food product this week.
Food brand Snaffling Pig has recalled its Perfectly Salted Pork Scratchings because of the presence of salmonella.
Before being withdrawn from shelves, this product was sold on both Ocado and Amazon, as well as some Morrisons branches.
Customers who have already bought the product should return it to the store they bought it from.
