Jake Paul has listed six potential opponents for his next fight, one of which is boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

Paul is targeting a return to the ring in August having not fought since knocking out ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley last December. ‘The Problem Child’ has a history with Mayweather, getting into a scuffle with the former five-weight world champion before he fought Paul’s brother Logan last June.

“Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping, Tommy Fury, Sonny [Bill] Williams out of Australia,” Paul told THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas about who his next opponent could be. “There’s a lot of people on the hitlist and some other names that we’re talking to. Just trying to pick the biggest opponent.

“Everyone I’ve fought I’ve carried the promotion, nobody has matched my star power so I’m looking for someone who can match my star power – we might fight in Australia, America or the UAE. Oscar, if you’re watching this man get off the couch and start training because we can make this happen.”

De La Hoya has praised Paul’s move to boxing and thinks the 25-year-old can eventually become a world champion despite having just five professional fights under his belt. ‘The Golden Boy’ said Paul has shown he is the “real deal” in his novice career.`

“Let me tell you one thing about Jake Paul, he’s the real deal, I’m going to tell you that. With only four or five fights and the way he’s taking it serious, Jake Paul is the real deal,” De La Hoya told TMZ Sports.

“I dare anyone who has boxing experience, who has MMA experience, to call him out because I’ll tell you one thing, this guy can beat a lot of good champions and even maybe great champions.

“So, Jake Paul is taking it serious. This is not a one-off, a two-off, a three-off, no. He wants to become a world champion and there’s no other way out of becoming world champion, you have to fight the very best.”

It’s unlikely that Paul will be stepping in the foot with Mayweather anytime soon, as ‘Money’ has just booked his exhibition return against former boxer Don Moore for May 14.

Paul has exchanged words with all of the other opponents he named apart from former rugby star Williams. The 36-year-old’s coach Andy Lee recently proposed a fight between the pair for Paul’s comeback. Williams has fought one and off since 2009 and is 9-0 as a professional.
