A Georgia man accused of killing his grandmother by stuffing her into a freezer told cops she was the only one who gave him the “courtesy and love and attention” he needed.

Cops say they found the body of Doris Cumming, 82, late Thursday in the Armuchee home she shared with her 28-year-old grandson, Robert Keith Tincher III.

He has now been charged with murder, aggravated battery, and concealing the death.

According to detectives, Cumming’s family thought she’d left the state but when they hadn’t heard from her, they reported the elderly woman missing.

Investigators believe she was injured in a fall last December and instead of seeking medical attention, Tincher allegedly stuffed her in the freezer while she was still alive.

“From what we determined, at the time, he believed she was still breathing and had some movement at the time she was going into the freezer,” Floyd County Investigator Brittany Werner told WAGA-TV.

The suspect allegedly told cops he “heard and saw numerous bones break.” He then allegedly wrapped her in plastic bags and stuffed her in the oversized freezer. He admitted Cumming’s back was broken when he put her body into the freezer.

There was apparently “no altercation or provocation” leading up to the deadly act, according to cops.

Afterward, he continued living in her home with the body in the freezer before moving the corpse to a storage unit in March. Ticher allegedly told cops he didn’t call for help because he feared he’d be arrested for a warrant against him for terror threats he made against his ex-wife in 2018.

“He said she was the only family member that gave him the courtesy and love and attention he needed,” said Werner.

Now, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is having an autopsy performed to determine when and how Cumming died.
