Coachella 2022: Celebrity sightings and surprise appearances from Weekend 1

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in Indio was hot, but these celebrities brought in even more heat.

The first weekend of the festival was full of surprises, from special guest performances, to new, unreleased music debuts, to Taco Bell announcements (thank you, Doja Cat), to celebrity sightings.

Artists including Anitta, Harry Styles, Daniel Caesar, Billie Eilish, and 21 Savage were among a few of the performers that surprised fans as they brought out artists to perform alongside them on stage.

Anitta, the first-ever Brazilian solo artist to perform on the main stage at Coachella, brought out Snoop Dogg and Saweetie and had Diplo DJ’ing during her set. Her performance was a hit — fans went crazy over it both online and in-person.

Day one headliner Harry Styles debuted two new songs during his performance — “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking.” Following the surprise guest trend, Styles brought out Shaina Twain and they performed her hits, “Man, I Feel Like a Woman” and “Still the One.”

Also on Friday, Daniel Caesar brought his own guest. BIEBER FEVER ALERT. Yep, Caesar brought out the Biebs and they performed their hit single “Peaches.”

Emo Nite duo, Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca, played songs from bands such as My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. They, too, brought on some artists to sing their hits, including Tom Higgenson from the Plain White T’s, who sang the iconic “Hey There Delilah.”

The youngest-ever Coachella headliner, Billie Eilish, was joined by singer Khalid to perform their song “Lovely,” and later, her brother Finneas to share the stage for “I Love You” and “Your Power.”

But that’s not all.

Eilish sang “Getting Older” with Damon Albarn, the front man of Blur and co-founder of Gorillaz. He was then joined by Kelvin Mercer, also known as Posdnuos, from the hip hop group De La Soul, and performed “Feel Good Inc.” with Eilish.

21 Savage did not disappoint during his set on day two. Post Malone joined the rapper to perform “Rockstar” in the Sahara tent. Later, producer Metro Boomin came out on stage for “No Heart,” “A Lot,” and a few other songs.

The surprises didn’t stop there. Day three of weekend one was just as packed with big-name guest performances.

Karol G paid tribute to other Latin artists by performing their songs in her set including “Como La Flor” by Selena Quintanilla, which made fans emotional. She also brought out Becky G and they performed their hit song “Mamiii.”

After, on the same main stage, Doja Cat brought out Tyga to perform “Juicy.” At the end of her set, she announced that Taco Bell is bringing back their Mexican Pizza, which will be returning May 19, by the way.

But wait — there’s more. Celebrities that weren’t performing also made appearances on the Coachella grounds.

Paris Hilton was definitely not one to miss at Coachella. She added a POP of color to the festival.

Brittany Mahomes, a fitness trainer and part owner of the Kansas City Current, was seen with her husband, Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes. She wore wore a black two-piece set under a black see through cover up. She’s also rocking boots and a braided hairstyle.
