Judd Trump is into the semi-finals of the World Snooker Championship for a fifth time after a 13-8 win over Stuart Bingham at the Crucible.
The 2019 world champ will meet Mark Williams in mouth-watering clash for a spot in the final.
Trump was not at his brilliant best for much of the clash with Bingham and would have been delighted to end the second session level at 8-8.
However, he did hit his stride on Wednesday evening and powered to victory, winning all five frames played, making it eight on the spin to win the match.
The 2015 world champion will be frustrated with how he performed over the back end of the game after seemingly having it under control early on.
There was only one century for the Ace in the match, making it four for the tournament, which shows that his immense scoring power is not what it could be, but it matters not as he heads into the final four.
The former world number one adds the scalp of Bingham to Anthony McGill and Hossein Vafaei who he saw off in the first two rounds.
Williams has been in fine form throughout the tournament – barring one session in the quarters – beating Michael White, Jackson Page and Yan Bingtao to set up this clash with Trump.
It will be the first time the Welsh legend and the Ace have met at the Crucible, or in fact in any of the three Triple Crown events, with their last meeting of much significance coming in the last 16 of the 2020 Scottish Open, which Trump won.
