KUWAIT CITY, May 8: In the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Iran traded with six countries in the region – Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia – goods weighing a total of 61 million tons and worth a total of $ 32 billion, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to a report published on the Iranian Financial Tribune website, the UAE was the top trading partner of Tehran among the countries of the region with goods weighing 23.4 million tons and worth $ 21.4 billion during the aforementioned fiscal year.
This is followed by Iraq with goods weighing a total of 32.5 million tons and worth $10.1 billion, and then Kuwait in third place with goods weighing a total of 3.6 million tons and worth $172.8 million. Iran’s total exports in the 2021/2022 fiscal year amounted to 45.4 million tons of merchandise, worth $ 14.1 billion.
Iraq was Tehran’s main export destination, with a merchandise volume of 28.8 million tons and worth $ 8.9 billion, followed by the UAE with goods weighing 10.7 million tons and worth $ 4.9 billion, then Kuwait with goods weighing 2.5 million tons and worth $158 million, Qatar with 1.8 million tons of goods worth $133.6 million, Bahrain with 14,400 tons of goods worth $ 9.7 million, and Saudi Arabia with 429 tons of goods worth $ 41,400.
