Nicky Byrne has joked that Guinness is the key to Westlife ’s youthful looks.
The Irish four-piece performed at the The Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards earlier this month and viewers watching at home couldn’t help but comment how little the band have aged over the years.
“Love my #westlife boys…. How do they not age?!” one of many complimentary fans took to social media to muse during the ITV broadcast of the annual celebration.
Speaking at the Football For Change gala over the weekend, The Mirror quizzed Nicky, 43 about what the secret is to the band’s eternally youthful appearances.

“Thank you,” the humble singer responded when shown the online praise from fans.
“I dunno, I think it’s brilliant. Maybe we look after ourselves, maybe it’s the air in Ireland, maybe it’s all the Guinness, who knows?”
Nicky was joined by stars such as Sir Rod Stewart, Jamie Carragher and Russell Howard at the charity gala in Liverpool in aid of a social mobility initiative called Football For Change.

The charitable movement was launched in May this year by Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady and Sky Sports pundit Jamie.
Westlife star Nicky played host for the evening, while Pixie Lott and M People’s Heather Small entertained guests in a star-studded room alongside the likes of stylish Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Pride of Britain Awards host Carol Vorderman and reality TV star Dawn Ward.
Before launching the evening’s audition -which raised over £250,000 to aid community organisations supporting school leavers who are struggling for employment and education opportunities – Nicky spoke of his excitement of Westlife’s upcoming tour.
Nicky, Shane Filan, Markus Feehily, Kian Egan will return to major arenas and concert venues next year after the coronavirus put a halt to live performances over the past two years.
“I can’t wait for it,” Nicky told The Mirror when chatting about getting back on stage.
“From next summer onwards, it’s business as usual.”
“Since [we reunited] this is the longest we’ve gone without touring.
He continued: “I’m really looking forward to seeing the fans again, singing the songs, the fun we have on stage – our families and the kids. It’s a real family affair with Westlife, we’ve always said that.”
“We’re getting older now, and we have 10 kids between four of us, so yeah, we can’t wait to get on stage at Wembley Stadium finally.”

Later in the evening, Nicky was part of the star-studded line up that helped raise a whopping £250,000 for Football For Change.
Generous guests at the function in Liverpool bid high on a wide range of money-can’t-buy items in the fundraising auction.
Dua Lipa, Daniel Craig, Conor McGregor and Ed Sheeran were just four of global superstars who came together in support of the cause with incredible prize donations.
Icons such as Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller plus Robbie Williams, Westlife and Ronnie O’Sullivan also donated some incredible prizes alongside sports stars such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler.
