The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Looked Like They Belonged on the Runway

The couture shows kept the fashion set busy in Europe last week. In the front rows were a large number of well-clad celebrities—all of whom came out dressed to impress. The best of the bunch embraced a sense of irreverence, choosing statement garments that looked like they belonged on the runways.

Take Bella Hadid, who attended a Balenciaga dinner in a couture off-the-shoulder, polka-dot top with matching trousers from the fall 2021 collection. At Valentino’s couture show in Rome, Anne Hathaway chose to wear all-pink—as did many other attendees, from Florence Pugh to Ariana DeBose—in a new fall 2022 look that consisted of a sequined mini dress, mini bag, and staggering platform heels. Keira Knightley also made her return to the front rows this week at Chanel’s couture show in Paris. She chose a fall 2022 LBD with lace detailing that was timeless, yet completely fresh.

At various screenings for their new film Thor: Love and Thunder, stars Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson each shined on their own. In Rome, Portman chose a vintage Claude Montana skirt suit in a zingy orange, proving a good archival design will never fail to feel modern. For a screening in London. Thompson opted for a golden Oscar de la Renta gown with fringing and corsetry details, looking like the A-lister she is. Keep it coming, Hollywood.
