EXCLUSIVE: Watch the Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Untold: The Rise and Fall of And1’

Netflix has unleashed the trailer for the latest installment of its UNTOLD sports documentary series, The Rise and Fall of And1.

The documentary chronicles how three young friends launched the “And1 Mixtape Tour,” a traveling basketball competition and a corresponding basketball apparel company. The beloved ‘90s brand ultimately crumbled, and the doc examines what led to its rise and eventual downfall.

“To tell the story of And1 you have to tell the story of grit, passion, perseverance and an undying love of the game of basketball,” director Kevin Wilson Jr. said in a statement. “Not only is this the story of streetball legends who kicked off a culture shifting movement and lived out their dreams to get paid to hoop when virtually everyone else shut them out. It’s also the story of regular people around the world who, because of And1, finally gained access to the energy and pandemonium of in-person high skilled, high energy basketball.”

As Wilson pointed out, the Mixtape Tour brought thrilling basketball games to communities that otherwise couldn’t afford to attend NBA or NCAA games.

“The first time I remember going into an arena to see a game was when And1 came to town. And1 made that arena accessible for ALL of us, not just for the privileged few,” Wilson added. “And1 was fun, gritty streetball FOR THE CULTURE. I’m truly honored to have had the opportunity to chronicle the ascent and ultimate demise of such an iconic moment in sports history. Mac and Chap Way deserve a lot of credit for encouraging us to capture the raw, unfiltered, gritty truth of AND1 straight from the mouths of the Founders and Players who lived the experience.”
