The Most Hated Man On The Internet: Netflix’s distressing new docuseries focuses on the ‘king of revenge porn’

In the trailer, one woman recalls: “I wake up, and look at my phone, 200 notifications…” while another adds, “there I was, topless, multiple photos”. A third woman adds: “It was an absolute shock”, while a male victim adds: “There I was, on the site.”

Others said they felt “violated” and “humiliated”, while it was also added that Hunter’s website was about “destroying lives”.

Did Hunter show any sign of regrets during the time his website was running?

A resounding no. Archive footage from the docuseries shows him in an interview proudly declaring: “Me and my friends would just post a bunch of girls, and I was, ‘Yo, I can make money off f****** people over.'”

Elsewhere, he added: “Taking people down, it’s just too much fun”, while in another interview, he stated: “Dude, without bullying, I don’t know what I’d do.”

One victim said: “I pleaded with him to please remove these images, and the response that I got was LOL.”

What led to Hunter’s downfall?

A mother protecting her daughter is what helped bring Hunter down when his cruel actions were dismissed by the LA police force, various internet providers and lawyers.

“He came after my daughter,” Charlotte Laws declares as reason enough to devote two years of her life to put an end to Hunter’s appalling online activities.

The docuseries is told through the eyes of Charlotte after Hunter was initially poised to be involved in the project himself.

Producer Vikki Miller is grateful for the change of events, admitting: “When Hunter pulled out, I was initially disappointed, but then I completely changed my mind and am so glad we ended up telling it through Charlotte Laws’ narrative.

“She’s an extraordinary character and fought extremely hard for justice to be done. Through Hunter’s regular media appearances at the time, we know what Hunter’s thoughts were – and we included them.”

Vikki added: “What was new, and what we did, was to flip the narrative to tell it from the other side – to include the voices that haven’t yet been heard – the victims’ – and they’re led by Charlotte.”
