Why you need to be in attendance at UFC 277.
UFC 277 goes down on Saturday, July 30, 2022, starting at 6:00 p.m. ET. The fight card features thirteen bouts, including two title fights. If you’re in the Dallas area, buy your tickets for the American Airlines Center because this is an event you don’t want to miss. Make sure to order the pay-per-view if you can’t attend in person.
The main event is a storyline best seen in person. Julianna Pena shocked the MMA world by beating Amanda Nunes, and ‘The Lioness’ is coming for revenge. Nunes looks to regain her title and the no.1 pound-for-pound female fighter with a win against the always dangerous Pena.
In the co-main event, Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France will go to war for the interim flyweight championship. Both fighters tend to fight at a fast pace, which could electrify the crowd inside the American Airlines Center.
Also, Houston native Derrick Lewis will be fighting Sergei Pavlovich, and ‘The Black Beast’ needs support from his hometown fans. Thrown in a potential no.1 contender fight with Magomed Ankalaev vs. Anthony Smith, and you end up with an intriguing fight card that hardcore MMA fans should be interested in attending if possible.
Past UFC events at American Airlines Center
The UFC has held four fights inside the American Airlines Center before this weekend – UFC 103, UFC 185, UFC 211, and UFC 228. The latest trip to Dallas was in 2018, where Tyron Woodley got his last win and title defense against Darren Till.
Although Lewis has fought in front of his hometown of Houston several times, he’s never fought inside the American Airlines Center. The trip from Houston to Dallas is several hours, but his friends and family will likely make the trip.
Between the intriguing main event, banger co-main event, and Lewis fighting in Texas, UFC 277 is an event worth attending if you can. If you can’t make the trip, don’t panic because the pay-per-view can be purchased on ESPN+.
