Huda Beauty founders, sisters Huda Kattan and Mona Kattan, put their friendship to the test by playing GLAMOUR’s Bestie Test

Sister’s and business partners Huda and Mona Kattan are the perfectly-made-up faces behind global beauty brand sensation, Huda Beauty. With a celebrity client roster under her makeup belt, the brand’s original founder, Huda (obv), was already an award-winning beauty blogger and A-list MUA when she launched the brand back in 2013. And the brand is well and truly a family matter, with sister and co-founder, Mona – an investor, beauty expert and self-titled self love advocate – at the helm of the multi-million dollar company too. 

“So me and Huda have been best friends since I was born,” younger sister Mona tells GLAMOUR UK. “We’re only a year and a half apart,” she adds, before being corrected – in true sibling style – by Huda, who says, “A year and eight months, I’m a year and eight months older than her.”

“I used to go around school and protect her because she’s my little sister,” Huda adds. 

“So when people were mean to her I’d be like, ‘were you mean to my sister?’, ‘what d’yu say to my sister?’,” she says, pushing her younger sibling playfully on the arm to demonstrate her zero tolerance attitude to bullying. 

“I was like really shy,” Mona replies. “Huda was like my bossy who was protective and also just a really big badass.”

We couldn’t agree more on that last point. 

“Not much has changed,” Mona admits. “But I’ve been to a lot of therapy since then.”
