Erik ten Hag unleashed some industrial language during his Sky Sports interview after Manchester United stunned Liverpool with a 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Monday night.

After back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Brentford, the Red Devils needed a performance and that’s exactly what they produced as they outworked and outclassed Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored the goals, more encouraging signs for United after the England forwards have been struggling for months to find their best form.

Ten Hag was clearly thrilled by his team’s display and by picking up his first win as Red Devils manager, so much so he dropped an F-bomb as he gets used to his second language.

Asked about his emotions after the game, Ten Hag told Sky Sports: ‘We can talk about tactics but it’s all about attitude. Now you see we bring attitude on the pitch.

‘There was communication, there was fighting spirit, especially there was a team. You can see what they can achieve. Because we can f***ing play good football.’

The comment drew an apology from Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones, while pundit and United legend Gary Neville chimed in by saying: ‘I quite enjoyed it!’

Ten Hag went on to insist that his team now bring the spirit and energy they showed in this match to every other game they play.

‘I was happy with it but they have to bring it every game,’ he said. ‘Of course we are happy, I know the rivalry against Liverpool, but we don’t just bring it against Liverpool.

‘Every Premier League game is difficult, is heavy, you have to bring it in every game. This organisation and this intensity.’
