Raphinha has reaffirmed his commitment to Leeds, claiming he can fulfil his ambitions at Elland Road.

Raphinha’s agent Deco has talked up the possibility of the Brazil winger being lured away and claims Liverpool were interested in him in the summer.

Raphinha, whose contract runs until June 2024, has continued to progress at Leeds this season and has scored five times in his 10 Premier League appearances.

He has also broken into the Brazil team and helped Tite’s Samba boys qualify for the World Cup this month.

When asked if he believes he can achieve his goals with Leeds, Raphinha told BBC Radio Leeds: “Without a doubt.

“When you bring together players with a real strong, winning desire, together with the manager, the coaching staff, fans who love the club, when you bring these elements together you create a wonderful atmosphere in the stadium and at the training ground.

“Marcelo Bielsa demands a lot of us. We know that, we’re used to it, we listen to him and he helps us develop and evolve as players, as professionals.

“We listen to him and we play his style of football.

“That’s the football that has put us in view, that has given us attention in the Premier League, that has made us stand out in the Premier League and made Leeds a Premier League team.”

Raphinha, 24, claims he is available to face Brighton on Saturday evening after missing the Tottenham defeat on Sunday though illness.

“Yes,” he said. “I can say I’m fully recovered from what happened and how I was last week.”

Patrick Bamford will again be missing for Leeds and the England striker has revealed he suffered a fresh problem in his long return from his ankle injury.

Bamford has been out since mid-September, missing Leeds’ last nine games, and says he twisted his ankle while running.

He has been out on the grass this week at Thorp Arch as he nears full fitness and he told the Official Leeds United Podcast: “I’m actually really good to be fair.

“This doesn’t sound too good, but last week I hurt my ankle again. But it wasn’t bad.

“I twisted it just when I was outside running like doing full speed stuff and moving about and they thought ‘oh, has he re-done the injury?’.

“But really when they checked it, the ligament has pretty much healed and obviously it heals thicker than it originally was so every movement I do it catches on the ligament.

“On Saturday I tried with the anaesthetic, just doing a full thing outside and it was fine, so I had a little injection after that, just a little steroid injection.

“I don’t know whether it’s scar tissue with a ligament, but when you look at the scans and stuff, compared to what it was, it is there now and it’s strong and structurally sound.”
