Don’t get in line at Santana Row just yet.
The long-awaited opening of Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s Momosan restaurant, scheduled for this Saturday, has been postponed.
“The goal is to open toward the end of September,” the Momosan team said in a statement, citing “staff training and final facility repairs.”
“Chef Morimoto wants to ensure that the final touches are put in place and that the team is trained to the Momosan standards before opening the restaurant doors to guests.”
Morimoto envisions Momosan Santana Row as a fun, casual environment for enjoying ramen, sake and beer, along with some creative, only-in-Silicon Valley dishes. When it opens, Santana Row will be his first California location.
The restaurant is taking over the prime corner formerly occupied by Pasta Pomodoro. The space, vacant for about five years, is located across from the Splunk office plaza.
