Will and Kate Share How Their Kids Are Doing Since Queen Elizabeth’s Death

On September 7, only one day before the death of their great-grandmother, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, began studies at their new school. The former Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had recently moved to Adelaide cottage to be closer to Lambrook School in Berkshire, England, and in closer proximity to Windsor Castle, as it is on the Windsor Park grounds. Elizabeth passed away on September 8, which could have easily upended all of these newly laid plans, however, it seems that their parents are doing their best to keep things as normal as possible for the young children.

The newly named Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate Middleton, are doing their best to maintain routine as their kids navigate a new school and many changes within the royal family. Kate has been stopping frequently to speak with well-wishers who have been flooding in to pay their respects. In a clip on Twitter, she can be heard saying that her children are doing “okay.’

“They’re in school, being well looked after,” she said. “They’re in a routine and they’re happy. They’re with new friends.”

William also told the crowd that things were working out for the little Princes and Princess, adding, “They’re settling in. We’re trying to keep everything constant and settled for them.”

A fan asked the Prince if the death of the Queen was being talked about in school, and William responded, “They are. There’s a lot of talking.”

Another story Kate shared about Prince Louis indicated the kids have a fairly healthy perspective on the situation. She told a well-wisher, “Louis said at least Grannie is with great-grandpa now.”

Elizabeth’s husband Prince Philip died last year.

The queen’s funeral is set for September 19 at Westminster Abbey in London.
