Simone Biles loves wearing braids. Her love for the protective style is undeniable, especially considering that we’ve seen her wear both bohemian and curly box braids this year. The Olympic gymnast has once again shown her love for braids in a tropical destination in an undisclosed location.
Biles has posted several recent pictures and videos of herself while relaxing on a beach. Her two-part Instagram photo slideshow from November 28 paired with the caption, “Bikini loca,” proves that these braids just hit different. Extending slightly past her butt, these braids may be the longest braids we’ve ever seen on her.
Just like she did with the location, Biles has also kept the hairstylist behind her latest lengthy braids a secret. It’s not clear as to when she got them, but it would be fair to say that the Olympian got her hair done specifically for this vacation. Protective styles are a perfect way to guard one’s hair from natural elements like wind and water (if, of course, one has the appropriate hair texture).
Biles’s island braids are perfect for everyday wear, even when she’s not basking on a beach 24/7. Her braids are certainly on the smaller side of the braided hairstyle spectrum (for reference, Zendaya’s jumbo box braids at the 2021 CFDA’s are some of the biggest we’ve seen in recent months).
