Every year, players within the automotive industry head to Las Vegas to gather together and show off all the meaningful upgrades, accessories, innovations, and inventions they’ve been working on. Basically, the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, or SEMA, is like a car show, but for car stuff and services.
The accessory business is growing at Ford. According to the brand, accessories’ sales are up 40 per cent from two years ago, with a third of them being made after purchase either online or at the dealer. Makes sense, then, that the brand would take the opportunity at the Las Vegas Convention Center to demonstrate the customizability of 10 of its most popular nameplates, joining forces with a number of aftermarket builders to create some unique rides. Here’s what they brought to the show.

F-150 Lightning ‘Swiss Army Knife’
Tjin Edition kitted out this 2022 F-150 Lightning Platinum SuperCrew 4X4 with an extended battery range to be an ultimate tailgating machine. It’s got cargo boxes, roof bars, an awning, and a bike rack from Thule with two e-bikes attached, plus a bunch of add-ons from Ford. There’s a portable air compressor kit, dash cam, refrigerator, and Recaro custom seats inside, and a power tonneau cover, roof rack basket, solar charging, red tow hooks, added exterior lighting on the roof and under body, and an Army Green paint finish outside.
Bronco ‘Extreme Beach/Extreme Sports Support’
It might not be able to help you actually catch the fish, but the Extreme Beach Bronco by Warn Industries will certainly get you to the river and back in style. Built on a 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak 4-Door, the Extreme build features a 270-degree awning, rod box, tailgate table, portable mini fridge, roof-mounted lightbar, carriers for a bike and kayak, Dana D60 axle with 5.38 gearing, and a winch and wheels from Warn.

Bronco Sport ‘Off-Road Heritage’
Yakima and Hypertech built this Badlands Bronco for those who want to go off-road and stay there. The ‘Ultimate Base Camp vehicle’ includes an off-road recovery kit, a jump starter, a portable air compressor, a fridge/freezer, Borla exhaust with black chrome tips, a bunch of added external lights to illuminate tricky terrain, and Bronco Sport Heritage emblems over the custom vinyl wrap to provide a quick nod to the nameplate’s off-roading origins.
Bronco ‘Service Unit Vehicle’
This Bronco “Service Unit Vehicle” (or S.U.V.) by ARB 4X4 Accessories pays homage to the sturdy and capable emergency response vehicles of the 1900s. It’s not entirely clear where the stretcher goes, but the modified V6 Bronco Wildtrak should make it to the rescue point with its onboard air compressor, light bar, mirror-mounted lights, winch, tube doors, and jack mount. The red crosses and “Rapid Medical Aid” decals on its sides also make it crystal clear to any onlooking wildlife that there may be a medical emergency somewhere in the forest or meadow.

Bronco ‘Off-Roading Performance’
The SEMA Businesswomen’s Network is marking its 10th year with this Off-Roading Performance Bronco based on a 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrak 4-Door, which was designed and built by over 250 women, including five mother-daughter teams. It’s another off-roading Bronco – fitting, as the Bronco is the brand’s most accessorized vehicle – this time with 4.70 gearing at both axles and special tuning by Ford, a two-person tent, a fridge/freezer, custom leather seats, and a Warn winch and ARB jack.
Mustang Mach-E ‘True Mustang Persona’
Ford brought just one Mustang product to the show this year: a Mach-E GT customized by Dom Tucci Design of Tucci Hot Rods and Kay Automotive Graphics to appear more akin to its sedan brethren. Did it work? Yeah, sorta.

Inside there’s Recaro seats with racing harnesses, custom-painted accents, and a 140-degree Ford dashcam. It may not be the ‘truest’ Mustang, but it fits the persona.
F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid ‘Remote Off-Roading’
Ford knows there are scores of people heading into the back country with an F-150 box full of toys every weekend, so it brought a F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid done up by BDS Suspension to support just that kind of activity. The Remote Off-Roading F-150 sits high on Fox dampers and 20-inch wheels, with a cold-air intake and Borla exhaust aiding the twin-turbo V6 engine. Should the back country turn on it, the truck also has 7.2kW Pro Power Onboard, recovery and first aid kits, an air compressor, and a console vault.

Pro Onboard Power also allows the vehicle to function as an off-road workstation and charging point for whatever other racing gear.
Maverick ‘Street Truck’
The LEER Group put its touches on a 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat Hybrid SuperCrew with the smaller 2.0L hybrid engine to turn it into a modern work truck “for hobbyists and professionals alike who pride themselves on being able to do anything, anywhere.”
