Jason Momoa is showing peach again.
During an appearance Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote his new Netflix movie Slumberland, the actor addressed those butt-baring Instagram photos from a recent fishing trip.
Back in October, Momoa bared his butt on his grid and Instagram Stories, stripping down to just a thong-loincloth garment, which he told Kimmel is a traditional Hawaiian malo.

“That’s a traditional malo, it’s what the Hawaiians wear,” Momoa told Kimmel, adding that he’s been wearing the garment “every day” for his upcoming Apple TV+ series Chief of War, which takes place in Hawaii in the 1780s and ’90s.
“I was just getting ready for the role – cause I like to get into character – and so I was tanning my white ass,” the actor told Kimmel to explain his wearing the malo on his “Sunday funday” fishing trip. “It was a second – you go past and he just happened to take a little photo.”
When Jason Momoa says every day, he means it. Though he arrived at the interview wearing a pink velvet jacket over a silk purple set that I would love to add to my pyjama collection, the Aquaman actor stripped down to reveal a brown malo. “I actually don’t even like wearing clothes anymore,” Momoa added. “I’m in it every day. I wear it all the time.”
After putting his pyjamas and jacket – which just so happens to be his actual Slumberland costume – back on, Momoa revealed that the Netflix movie is his first comedy after 23 years in the industry. “Please watch it. I just want to do comedies,” he told the audience.
He also opened up about his partnership with Be The Match, a charity that helps people join the bone marrow registry with just a swab of their cheek. Momoa began working with the charity after his friend was battling leukemia for the third time. “The registry is so little,” he said. “[But] you can be a superhero, you can save someone’s life.”
Motioning to the audience, he continued, “If we were all a part of a village and two of you needed help or were going to die, wouldn’t we all help the two people here?”
Spoken like a true superhero.
