The Blitzboks team arrived back in Cape Town on Sunday morning, having flown back from Dubai where they claimed an unforgettable victory at a venue that has become a truly happy hunting ground.

South Africa have been drawn in Pool A for the tournament scheduled to take place at the Cape Town Stadium from 9-11 December.
They will face France, Fiji and Canada in their pool matches.
The Cape Town Sevens is known for its carnival atmosphere, and it was in this spirit that the team was warmly welcome back to South Africa shores this past weekend.

The Springboks Sevens and Fiji will be the danger men in Pool A, while Pool B will see Ireland, Samoa, Uruguay and Japan face off. New Zealand, Argentina, Kenya and Spain have been drawn in Pool C. Pool D features the USA, Australia, Great Britain and Uganda.

The Cape Town Sevens was last played in 2019 with Covid-19 challenges forcing the 2020 and 2021 editions to be cancelled.
New Zealand beat the Blitzboks 7-5 in that 2019 Cup final.

Meanwhile, as reported by The South African website, the Blitzboks moved to the top of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series log after emerging victorious at the Dubai Sevens on Saturday – for a 10th time.
