Overwatch, the first-person shooter game by Blizzard Entertainment, has launched its official fashion partnership with British creative Marc Jacques Burton. A staple in luxury streetwear, the London-born designer has continued to up the ante since launching his namesake brand in 2015, which first garnered attention from the likes of Tom Holland, Zayn Malik, Migos and the late Juice WRLD.
Renowned for its groundbreaking collaborations, MJB’s innovative new capsule draws on the brand’s signature styles, rebellious aesthetic and bold, rockstar appeal. Notably, the campaign stars a roster of talents from the worlds of music and film—including UK rapper Giggs, actress Wallis Day, Top Boy star Hope Ikpoku Jnr and Afrobeats artist Darkoo—who sport pieces inspired by the Overwatch characters Lúcio, Kiriko, Genji and Sojourn. Commemorating the partnership with a private prelaunch, the event was hosted by Marc Jacques Burton himself, alongside friends of the brand. Guests who pulled up on the night included Micheal Ward, Bugzy Malone, Nick Grimshaw, Ted Lasso, actors Kola Bokinni and Billy Harris, and Prodigy’s Hana Martin and Maxim, while Giggs, Hope Ikpoku Jnr and Darkoo kept attendees entertained with live performances.
Fresh off of his team-up with ‘Overwatch’, we caught up with Marc Jacques Burton to learn more about his start as a creative, why he enjoys collaborating, and the importance of following your dreams.
“We all have dreams within us and one of the slogans from my brand is to ‘Live Your Dream’. It’s almost our duty to fight for those dreams and to try and live them.”
