COLD SPRING — Crosby-Ironton scored third place in both jazz and kick, while Pierz placed fourth in kick Saturday, Dec. 4, in the Rocori Invite.

C-I tied with Bagley for second in kick with 7.5 rank points, but the tiebreaker went Bagley’s way. Minnewaska won the kick competition with 5 rank points. Pierz collected 12 rank points for fourth and Aiking finished eighth with 23.5 rank points.

In jazz, C-I finished with 10 rank points. Frazee won jazz with three rank points.

Aitkin finished seventh and Pierz 10th.

“I am really proud of the performances from our program this weekend,” C-I head coach Rachel Norwood said. “Varsity kick was able to take home top honors after a high-energy performance in Little Falls and varsity jazz came in a close second place after losing a double tiebreaker to Class 2A school Bemidji for 1st. In Rocori, we were excited to get out and compete against some tough Section 4A schools. We had solid performances in both varsity kick and jazz and took home third-place hardware and traditional Cold Spring Bakery cakes in both as awards. We were edged out in yet another tiebreaker for second place in kick, so we are ready to get back in the gym and work hard to improve scores before our next competitions at MidState Conference in Pequot Thursday and the big Detroit Lakes Invitational on Saturday.”
