The model, 27, shared the exciting news in a New Years’ post, with an image of an ultrasound.
In revealing the sweet news to Alec, 64, his daughter Carmen, nine, began to explain to the family that each of her siblings were about to become aunts and uncles.
Actor Alec sat there with a blank look on his face as Carmen went around the room, pointing to her younger siblings, with his wife Hilaria, 38, filming the moment, as he then asked what he’ll be.
After explaining he’s going to be a grandpa, she added: ‘Ireland’s pregnant.’
At this, Alec put a hand over his face in mock shock as he took in the moment
Alec, Hilaria and their children then shared their congratulations to Ireland, who Alec shares with Kim Basinger, in a message to the camera.
Hilaria captioned the video: ‘From all these excited tiny uncles and aunties and grandpa Alec and grandma me… We are so happy for you, Ireland and Andre…can’t wait to meet the little babe ❤️’
Responding to the clip, Ireland replied in the comments: ‘Awwww thank you guys. The littlest aunts and uncles ????❤️’ while her partner shared heart emoji.
Earlier this week she updated fans and friends on New Year’s Eve with a photo along with the simple message: ‘Happy New Year,’ along with a love heart emoji.
Ireland will welcome the new arrival with musician boyfriend Rac, real name Andre Allen Anjos; the pair have been together since 2021.
The future parents have been inundated with love following the announcement, with hundreds flocking to the comment section to share their congratulations.
Kathryn Gallagher, Chrissy Teigen and Bryana Holly were among those wishing Ireland and Rac the best on their journey.
As well as Ireland’s first child, it will be dad Alec’s first grandchild.
Alec himself recently welcomed a daughter, Ilaria, his seventh child with wife Hilaria, meaning his youngest daughter will be a similar age to his first grandchild.
Hilaria and Alec also share Carmen, Rafael, seven, Leonardo, six, Romeo, four, Eduardo, two, Lucia, 21 months, and Ilaria, two months.
Ireland is his oldest child, whom he welcomed with first wife Kim Bassinger; the pair divorced in 2002.
