The woman claimed Bartholomew was “her emotional support pet,” but TSA determined that the serpent could not fly on the plane.
“Snake on a plane? This is a TSA X-ray of Bartholomew, a boa constrictor who was in a traveller’s carry-on bag at @FlyTPA last month,” TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein said in a tweet.

“A woman claimed the snake was her emotional support pet,” she detailed. “TSA notified the airline, which ruled that there was not going to be a snake on their plane!”
The tweet was accompanied by a photo of the X-ray that shows the large snake in the corner of the bag along with other items.
“Our officers at Tampa International Airport didn’t find this hyssssssterical!,” TSA wrote on an Instagram post alongside the same pic.
