Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was in the stands to watch his expensively assembled side action against Fulham on Friday night, in the club’s first game since the close of the transfer window.

The American bankrolled an incredible winter window at Stamford Bridge, and was on hand to watch his multi-million outlay of players take on west London rivals Fulham.

Blues boss gave a debut to the Premier League’s record signing, as Enzo Fernandez started just days after his £107million move from Benfica, in a starting XI that cost £488 million in total.

January recruits Mykhailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile started alongside Fernandez, with the trio contributing a whopping £230m of transfer fees alone.

The winter spree means Boehly has taken his transfer spending to £566m since taking charge of the club from Roman Abramovich last summer.

Boehly could be seen in a watching brief in the directors box, alongside the former Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, who’s a Chelsea fan.

However, there was a nod to Chelsea’s previous glories too, as former skipper John Terry was also seen watching the game with his daughter a couple of boxes along from the Chelsea owner.

Their presence failed to inspire Graham Potter’s new Chelsea names, as they struggled to breakdown a stubborn Fulham side and were goalless at half time in the Premier League clash.
