Let’s be honest, the Brit Awards are the highlight event on the British music calendar. Every year, these awards gathers some of the best talent and celebrates the music that Brits everywhere have been loving all year long. The red carpet this year is filled with familiar faces (some we haven’t seen in a while: hi, S Club; hi, Sugababes) from various generations, gracing us with their presence and of course, serving face. For that reason alone, some of us tune in for one thing and one thing only — the looks.
The beauty looks were just as eye-catching as the performances – in fact, they might have just taken centre stage. From dainty lip colour combos, to sleek and chic up-dos, the stars hitting that iconic carpet did not disappoint.
This year, the girlies are opting for smokey eyes, nude lips and many have opted for a modern take on the it-girl XXL mermaid waves or a slick-back hair moment. The coquette girls are shaking and they want their aesthetic back.
‘Baddest of them all’ Eliza Rose really understood the assignment rocking a Bridgerton-core type wig and a statement berry lip. Lizzo’s liquid metallic look had us spinning (she paired it with a 60s flipped bob of dreams). Then the 90s nostalgia hit us hard as Rina Sawayama rocked a heavy smokey brown eyeshadow look to match a heavy lined brown lip.
Kim Petras is known to not be one following the grain so her look consists of her signature blonde hair but for eye makeup, she went for an optical illusion look, with spiralling black lines around her eyes. The
