Multan Sultans vs Peshawar Zalmi injury update, key players
Multan Sultans injury update, key players in PSL 2023
Multan Sultans were forced to make one important change to their squad as pacer Shahnawaz Dahani was ruled out of PSL 2023 and was replaced by Mohammad Ilyas in the squad.
The team has played two games in PSL 2023 so far and won their last game against Quetta Gladiators after losing the opener to Lahore Qalandars by a run. Mohammad Rizwan continued with his fine form as he continue to score runs after belting 75 in the first game. His 28 not out was an anchor in the win against Quetta as South African Rilee Rossouw fired a 42-ball 78 after coming in at No. 3 in a mere chase of 112 runs.
Rossouw didn’t play the first game and was promoted to No. 3 in place of David Miller. Miller and Kieron Pollard didn’t get to bat in the match but showed glimpses of their form in the first game.
Afghan pacer Ihsanullah was on fire in the game as he picked a 5/12 while completing his entire quota of overs to bundle out Quetta for 110. Abbas Afridi, who was picked in the 11 in place of injured Dahani, made the most of the opportunity by taking two wickets for 2/27 while seamer Sameen Gul also delivered a 2/20 after leaking runs against Lahore.
Spinner Usama Mir continued to be economical with 1/19 spell at an economy of 4.75.
Peshawar Zalmi injury update, key players
Peshawar Zalmi has no reported injury updates going into the game and will be looking to make the most out of the winning momentum they got from the win in their first game against Karachi Kings.
Babar Azam started his captaincy of the franchise on a winning note with a 46-ball 68 but it was Englisman Tom-Kohler Cadmore, who stole the show with a knock of 5-ball 92. Likes of Mohammad Haris, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Saim Ayyub, on the other hand, couldn’t fire in the game.
Haris played in the Bangladesh Premier League recently and scored some runs as well but struggled to maintain consistency. Rajapaksa and Ayub’s recent form leaves a lot to worry.
James Neesham played a cameo of 11-ball 16 down the order and later came back to pick two wickets in the game while giving away just 26 runs in four overs on a batting paradise of Karachi’s National Stadium.
Senior pacer Wahab Riaz also delivered a decent spell of 2/34 while the likes of Khurram Shahzad, Shakib Al Hasan and Salman Irsad leaked runs.
Irshad, however, took a wicket and also maintained a regular wicket-taking form for Dhaka Dominators in the BPL recently.
