Netflix Releases the First 8 Minutes of Outer Banks Season 3

Outer Banks was already renewed for a fourth season ahead of the season 3 premiere.

Outer Banks recently received an early renewal for a fourth season on Netflix, days before the premiere of its third installment on Feb. 23. And the streaming platform celebrates the news by releasing the first 8 minutes of the upcoming slot of episodes:

Outer Banks is set on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The main plot surrounds a tight-knit group of teenagers from the wrong side of the tracks called The Pogues. When a series of unusual events occur on the island, The Pogues, led by their charismatic leader John B, embark on a mission to find his missing father.

In Season 3, After losing the gold and fleeing the Outer Banks, The Pogues washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home. Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling. But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They’re broke and far from home; they can’t trust anyone; Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. So was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together.

Outer Banks Beats All Odds at Netflix

Despite 2022 having a good close for the service, Netflix and most of its competitors are going through a crisis. This has led the company to take controversial measures to reduce expenses. Series like Stranger Things, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and Wednesday have achieved massive and spectacular success, getting rapid renewals. However, more modest productions such as the acclaimed Warrior Nun, have been victims of the company’s strategies, which seek only to invest in projects that will result in insane profits.

For this reason, the renewal of a well-established but moderately successful show like Outer Banks seems like an oasis in the middle of the desert full of canceled series, sold-out movies, and suspended productions. The announcement of the new season was made during the Poguelandia fan event, which included the participation of the cast of the show and the creators, who celebrated with words of thanks to the fans:
