The Northwestern Wildcats are on fire right now, winners of four straight games to move into No. 2 in the Big Ten in conference play ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Iowa and Kris Murray aren’t far behind, posting a 9-6 record in Big Ten play and 17-9 record on the season.
The Hawkeyes dominated Northwestern the last time these two teams played, winning 86-70 in Iowa.
Northwestern has really turned things on as of late, though, upsetting No. 3 Purdue and No. 14 Indiana in back-to-back games.
The Wildcats are an elite defense (15th in opponent points per game, 28th in adjusted defensive efficiency) this season. Is that enough for them to pull off another win as a dog against Iowa?

Iowa vs. Northwestern prediction and pick
This is a battle of contrasting styles, as the Hawkeyes usually win their games on the offensive end, ranking third in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency.
They shot the lights out the last time these two teams played, going 10-for-21 from beyond the arc and finishing the game shooting 55.8 percent from the field.
The Wildcats were just 4-for-17 from 3 in that game, and they’ll need to shoot the ball better to compete in this matchup.
Still, I like Northwestern to at least cover in this matchup. The Wildcats are live dogs at home, where they have gone 12-4 this season. Meanwhile, Iowa is just 3-5 straight up on the road.
This season as 1.5-point dogs or more, the Wildcats are an impressive 8-3 against the spread. I think they’re the side to back at home given how they’ve played against elite ranked opponents over the past week.
