Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic are no longer teammates in the NBA, but their chemistry is still as strong as ever.

Harris and Marjanovic have once again partnered up with Goldfish for a fun campaign. This time around, they’re launching the first-ever “Goldfish Boban Hand Dish.” It’s a replica of Marjanovic’s hand that holds exactly 301 Goldfish.

We caught up with Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic to discuss their latest project with Goldfish, their thoughts on the 2023 All-Star Game and more.

Fans can win a Boban Hand Dish by entering Goldfish’s sweepstakes on March 1 at 3:01 p.m. ET.

The Spun: The promotional videos for this project were just a joy to watch. Can you tell us a bit about your partnership with Goldfish?

Tobias Harris: As you see my friend, Bobi, he’s killing the game. We’re back with Goldfish with another ad, which is all about Bobi’s hand. A lot of people don’t know he has the biggest hand in the NBA. Now we have a life-size Boban hand that fits 301 goldfish. I just think the commercial is epic. We have a lot of people talking about it already. I can’t wait for people to see the full thing. We have a really great friendship outside of basketball, and I think fans embrace the bromance. Even though we’re not on the same team anymore, it was a dream come true to do another commercial together.

Boban Marjanovic: Of course, Goldfish is the reason why this thing has happened. But it also happened because of our great energy. We have great, positive energy. I’m just a guy with the big hands. He’s the guy with the brain. I really like how the ad came out. I’m still so impressed watching it. What you see in the commercial is what you see in real life. This is who we are. The guys came out with such a great idea. I had people texting me last weekend as if I was an All-Star.

The Spun: Speaking of the All-Star Game, do you guys think it could use a few changes?

Tobias: It’s different now because there’s a bigger emphasis on players’ health. I know people want it to be more competitive, but if your favorite team’s star player gets hurt, you’ll be very upset. It’s tough to make it that much more competitive because you don’t want to risk injuries. It’s somewhat like the NFL Pro Bowl. I would say you kinda have to enjoy it for what it is. At the end of the day, it’s a pickup game. Until there’s a real incentive, which would have to mean more dollars, I don’t think we’ll see a huge change. That’s just my opinion. But I think the All-Star Game has been like this for a few years now. You just need some guys to talk some s—t and have fun.

Boban: At the end of the day, it’s a show. Fans want to see all these stars have fun in one place and make shots from half court.

The Spun: You guys have talked about how strong your friendship is. If Hollywood made a movie about you guys, which actors would you pick to play Boban and Tobias?

Boban: For me, George Clooney or Brad Pitt. Or maybe Ashton Kutcher.

Tobias: I want Denzel Washington to play me. My other option would be Matthew McConaughey [laughs].

The Spun: You both have played on several teams in the NBA. Do you think there’s added pressure when you play for Philadelphia?

Boban: In Philadelphia, if you do something bad, they’ll boo you. But I think it’s because they want 100 percent effort from you. They want you to fight for the ball, not just be there on the court. I respect that a lot. We have a lot of big fan bases in Europe, so I grew up with that. I think we need to come to work ready to play every single day. Sometimes, you play bad, but you can always control your effort.

Tobias: That was a good answer. I would say it’s a hard-working city. Any team with high expectations deals with that type of pressure. When it comes to Philadelphia, we’ve had high expectations for years now. All our fans embrace that, and you want to be in that type of situation. That’s what I respect about it.

The Spun: Who is the toughest player you guys have guarded?

Tobias: I’d say Kevin Durant.

Boban: Tobias Harris [laughs].

Hopefully, we’ll get to see Harris and Marjanovic join forces on the hardwood at least one more time before their careers are over.
