WWE WrestleMania 39: 3 matches announced featuring John Cena, Trish Stratus & Logan Paul

As announced on this week’s Raw, the former 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion will officially return for a full-length match at WrestleMania 39 against Austin Theory with the United States Championship hanging in the balance.

John Cena made his much-anticipated return to Monday Night Raw during the latest episode and Theory was quick to interrupt him and offer him a gift – a match against him at The Show of Shows with the US Title on the line.

Initially not interested in the match, Cena finally agreed as the crowd made positive signs and wanted the match to happen at WrestleMania.

“I may not care about you, but I’ll never give up on them. Remember this moment, you just made the biggest mistake of your life. At WrestleMania, for the United States Championship, it’s going to be Austin Theory versus John Cena.”

This will be Cena’s first legit match at the Showcase of Immortals since WrestleMania 34 against The Undertaker. He was in action against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 but that was a pre-taped Cinematic Match.

Also, making her return to action at WrestleMania Hollywood will be WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. The legend alongside new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Lita and Becky Lynch was confronted by DAMAGE CTRL members on Raw.

In a promo exchange, Trish told DAMAGE CTRL leader Bayley that she’s coming out of retirement and hence, she issued a challenge for a six-woman tag team match at WrestleMania 39. Bayley accepted to make the match official.

Trish last competed in a match at SummerSlam 2019 in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she lost to Charlotte Flair. Then she made her return to WWE Raw, last week helping Lita and Becky Lynch to win the tag team titles.

In more announcement from WrestleMania 39, Seth “Freakin'” Rollins and Logan Paul have now agreed to face each other in a singles contest. This comes after the duo confronted each other on Raw after weeks of torments.

Back in January at the Royal Rumble match Logan tossed the two-time WWE Universal Champion over the top rope. Then in February, Logan against cost Rollins his shot at retrieving the US Title back from Austin Theory to intensify the feud.

WWE WrestleMania 39 aka WrestleMania Hollywood Premium Live Event takes place Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The updated match card for the event goes as follows:

– Brock Lesnar vs. Omos

– Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul

– Trish Stratus and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Lita & Becky Lynch vs. DAMAGE CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY)
