Both sides are locked on eight points each in as many games with Multan Sultans (+0.473) leading by the virtue of a superior net run rate. They are wary of Quetta Gladiators waiting in the wings with six points in nine games and will be hoping that Multan Sultans lose the game as both sides are set to face each other on Saturday.
PSL 2023: Most runs | Most wickets | Most sixes | Most fours | Highest strike rate | Best bowling economy
Peshawar Zalmi’s top order is firing from all cylinders with Saim Ayub and Babar Azam scoring 269 for the first wicket in two back-to-back matches combined. Rovman Powell, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore provide further firepower in the middle order while Haseebullah Khan, Aamer Jamal, and Azmatullah Omarzai make for a lower-order pinch-hitting.
The only blip in the order appears to be Mohammad Haris, whose form hasn’t been off to the mark off late.
Zalmi bowlers, however, are still recovering from Jason Roy onslaught from the last game. The Englishman scored 63-ball 145 in the last game while giving spinners and pacers the same treatment in a successful 241-run chase.
For Multan, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaan Masood are in good form with the latter scoring 75 in the last game. Rizwan, however, hasn’t scored big in the last few games.
The addition of Tim David has given the side further firepower as he scored 26-ball 60 in the last game because South African duo Rilee Roussouw and David Miller are struggling to be among runs off late.
Kieron Pollard and Anwar Ali, however, are good in the lower middle order while the duo also come in handy as bowlers. Ali, especially, has taken five wickets in the last two games.
However, it’s Ihsanullah, who is leading the Green cap race with 18 wickets, is the team’s strike bowler while Abbas Afridi (13) and Usama Mir (11) are also taking wickets in bunches.
