In case there wasn’t enough interest in tonight’s Mavericks-Grizzlies game, Dillon Brooks decided to call out both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
For starters, Brooks questioned Doncic’s toughness when he found out the All-Star guard will miss tonight’s game.
“It’s goes to show that sometimes they ain’t ready to come back to a physical game,” Brooks said. “I hope Luka gets back for the next game so I can guard him. “I didn’t get a chance to guard him the first game and he had a great game [Oct. 22 when Brooks was hurt]. So I wanna see where I’m at.”
Irving’s status for this Saturday’s game, meanwhile, is up in the air. Brooks made it known that he wants the former NBA champion to play.
“Now I can get him by myself today, so I want to see what he’s all about,” Brooks told reporters. “He had a couple of words for me in Brooklyn, so I can’t wait to pick him up full every time and see him get exhausted.”
Well, that’s one way to shine a spotlight on this game.
There’ll be plenty of fans watching tonight’s matchup to see how Brooks performs against Irving, make no mistake about it.
The Grizzlies and Mavericks will tip off at 8 p.m. ET.
