LeBron James helped the Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves in Tuesday’s Western Conference play-in tournament.
Now with the seventh seed secured, the Lakers will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs.
James gave his thoughts on the matchup during his postgame press conference.
“Really good team, very well-coached, very well-balanced,” James said. “The head of the snake is Ja Morant, and they have another All-Star, Jaren Jackson, who can block shots but offensively is very dynamic.
Tyus Jones, the point guard off the bench, has led the league in assists-turnover ratio the last six years. Desmond Bane is in his second or third year but plays like a veteran. He can shoot from the three-point line and attack early in the transition. You can’t disrespect Dillion Brooks because he can make shots, and they have other guys off the bench you can’t disrespect because they will make you pay. Obviously, I haven’t thought about Memphis for one minute.”
I asked LeBron for his early thoughts on the Memphis matchup. After listing out his scouting report for most of their rotation, he deadpanned, “Obviously, I haven’t thought about Memphis one minute.” pic.twitter.com/PeUJ4sXJYs

This showed the basketball IQ James has when it comes scouting other teams before a potential matchup.
