A Manhattan Tourist Attraction Is Home To Two Sibling Food And Wine Gems

ANA Wine & Spirits and ANA Bar & Eatery are the must-visit concepts from Anna Castellani, the creative mind behind Brooklyn’s Dekalb Market Hall and The Hugh Food Hall in Midtown Manhattan.

Both are celebrating their one-year anniversaries this year.

“ANA Bar & Eatery and ANA Wine & Spirits serve the daily dining and wine needs of the entire Hudson Yards community,” says co-owner Castellani. “And this means not just those endless pours, but an entire range of wine- and drinks-based programming including regular tastings of exciting new wine finds as well as casual pizza classes for families and wine tasting evenings.”

Let’s start with food first: An all-day restaurant and drinks spot, ANA Bar & Eatery pairs the highest-quality ingredients with a chic-yet-casual ambiance. An elevated take on a classic salad bar, it’s a self-serve spot that features a long bevy of dishes that changes each day, many of which are plant-based.

Castellani says, “The show is healthy food that is also fast. We are focused on vegetables – farm to table and truck everything from the Hudson Valley.”

ANA Bar & Eatery also caters to families with a pizza station, taco bar, and other kid-friendly favorites. And they have lots of fun family events- a recent collaboration with NYC’s Mommy Poppins, the authority for kids programming, on a heart-shaped pizza-making workshop for Valentine’s Day is just one example. The sold-out pizza class will be offered again next month and throughout the year.

The space even has a full-service coffee bar with specialty coffee drinks from Bianco Latte and a breakfast offering with smoothies and bowls. “You can come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or grab a beer and relax,” says Castellani. “It’s that one place that will be good for everybody.”

Now to the imbibing: ANA Wine & Spirits is the drinks-based sibling of ANA Bar & Eatery and located the level below near an entrance to Hudson Yards Like the restaurant, it takes an innovative, highly-curated approach to its business. Inspired by wine cultures from across the globe, ANA Wine & Spirits strongly focuses on natural wines, biodynamic wines and growers champagnes.

It also offers spirits with an equally global eye: from tequilas and mezcals to vodkas, brandy, rums, and gin, ANA Wines stocks mostly unique, small-scale purveyors with a distinct sense of flavor and point of view.
