Aaron Carter’s cause of death revealed in auotpsy

Aaron Carter’s cause of death has been revealed after months of speculation.

The singer drowned in the bath after consuming difluoroethane — a flammable gas that is often used as the propellant in cans of compressed air — and Xanax, his autopsy has confirmed.

The death was ruled accidental.

The 34-year-old died at his home in Lancaster, California, on November 5 and the report by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner said he was “submerged in a bathtub after inhalation of compressed gas and intake of alprazolam (a generic form of Xanax)”.

He was “unresponsive” and had no “life-threatening traumatic injuries” at the time of his death, the autopsy report stated. He was pronounced dead at the scene by his housekeeper.

Carter’s mother, Jane, had previously refused to believe that his death was accidental, calling for a “real investigation” into the tragedy.

“They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past,” she wrote on Facebook earlier this year, alongside grisly images of Aaron’s death scene.

After rising to fame at a young age, Carter struggled with drug and mental health issues throughout his adult life, spending time in rehab.

He had many run ins with police, including for driving under the influence and drug possession.

Carter’s brother, Backstreet Boys star Nick, had a strained relationship with his sibling before he passed away.

But the 43-year-old paid a moving tribute to his tragic younger brother the day after his death.

Alongside a series of throwback photos, he wrote on Instagram: “My heart has been broken today. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded.

“I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.

“Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know.

“Now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth. God, please take care of my baby brother.”
