Aashna Shroff’s grey smoky eyes for MTV’s Europe Music awards looks oh-so -glam; Here’s how to recreate this look for your next party
The 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) were held at the PSD Bank Dome in Dusseldorf, Germany. Taylor Swift, who has not attended the award ceremony since 2012, made a surprise appearance to receive the honour in person. At the glamorous event, Aashna Shroff attracted attention as well. She chose a gorgeous metallic Amit Aggarwal dress, but we really want to replicate her party-worthy electric grey smoky eye. So, we tell you how to create this surprisingly easy look.
STEP 1
Never apply your foundation to the eye before doing a smoky eye. The region around the eyes will become a muddy mess as all of the black eyeshadow smears out. Apply a matte concealer or eyeshadow primer to the eyelids before starting the eye look. Once that’s done, use a taupe eyeshadow to create a domed shape at the crease of the eyelid. Use a charcoal eyeshadow to give the outer corner of the eye a “winged” appearance. To make this as tiny as possible, use a delicate brush.
STEP 2
Then, without blending it past the crease, apply a wash of any cool-toned silver hue that is neither too dark nor too light all over the lids. Considering how little pigment many shimmer shadows have, using Earl Grey cream shadow with your fingers could be preferable than using a powder shimmer. Now, top with a metallic silver shadow for a foiled silver look.
STEP 3
Creating the smudged eyeliner is the main part of the look. By elevating your brow with your finger, raise the lid, and then apply liner close to the lashline. Then make that a little thicker. Once the eyes are lined, create a smoky wing by dragging your index finger nail along the outside edge of the lashline.
STEP 4
The edges of your kajal should now be softened using the smudge tool on the opposite end of your kajal. This will provide a diffused appearance, blurring the distinction between eyeliner and eyeshadow. After it has been smeared, go back over the lashline and darken it again while maintaining a thin line.
STEP 5
Applying foundation, concealer, and highlighter—all of which should be based on your individual tastes and skin tone—comes next. Apply a tonne of volumizing mascara to the lashes when that is finished since they will have a lot of eyeshadow dust on them that you need to cover up.
STEP 6
Smoky eyes and bright lipstick don’t exactly go together. Use a peachy-pink or warm-toned pink-nude lipstick instead, then blot it with a tissue so that it blends more naturally into the lips. Finally, use a lot of bronzer and use it to contour your cheekbones.
