ABU DHABI, 23rd August, 2022 (WAM) — Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) has visited the Lulu Hypermarket in the Capital Mall to see the implementation of the improved (SEHHI for Supermarket) programme, previously known as “Weqaya”
This cooperation aims to facilitate how to identify healthy products with an easy and clear logo for consumers. Lulu Hypermarkets is one of the largest food corporations targeting a wide and different category of consumers in the Abu Dhabi community.
Adding a “SEHHI” logo contributes to recommending healthy choices during shopping, where the food with the logo contains low rates of fats, sugar and salt, and high rates of fibers compared with other similar food.
The programme is based on rearranging the store to highlight healthy choices by applying effective and sustainable marketing strategies. SEHHI programme provides nutritious food products, facilitates access to healthy food items, and attracts the attention of those who are shopping by placing the logo on healthy product shelves.
Matar Saeed Al-Nuaimi, Director-General of ADPHC, said that implementing the progarmme will contribute significantly to diversifying the available health choices for the consumers in the Emirate and empower them to select better options. This will serve the programme’s strategic goal of reducing risk factors of chronic diseases related to unhealthy food habits and promoting a healthier lifestyle among the Abu Dhabi community.
Aboobakker T. P., Director of Lulu Hypermarket in Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra region, said that Lulu’s participation was part of the Group’s commitment to bringing the best food trends to shoppers.
“We look forward to continuing this initiative for a larger number of branches and contribute to improving the healthy food habits of the consumers across our stores,” he added.
ADPHC signed a cooperation agreement with Lulu Hypermarket in 2018 to start implementing the SEHHI programme on its healthy food products. This cooperation extended to include the implementation of the programme in four branches until the date.
