Adrián Parras showed again last weekend that he is the king of the midfielder in Spain. The 21-year-old athlete from Valladolid was the best in the 5,000 and 1,500 meter events in the Spanish Athletics Championship of the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Intellectual Disabilities (FEDDI).

The national event, held at the Chapín sports complex, in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), served to see the best version of the athlete from the Campo Grande Athletics Club, who met expectations in the two tests he took part in, although the athlete from the Federation of Adapted Sports of Castilla y León (Fedeacyl) suffered more than expected in the 1,500m due to the harassment of the Basque Ibai Magdaleno, with an arrival at the sprint: 4:20:24 to the 4:20:57 of the athlete from Athletics Javi Conde.

Adrián Parras: «Paris 2024? Why not? Whatever it is, you have to try.”

Parras was more than enough in the 5,000 where he dominated the test from start to finish to reach the finish line with a time of 16:14:27, followed again by Magdaleno (16:58:68), and with Diego Postigo from Segovia in fifth position (17:51:77).

The FEDDI competition, organized by the Andalusian Federation of people with intellectual disabilities (FANDDI), hosted more than 300 athletes and the Championship was divided into morning and afternoon sessions, starting at 9:30 and 17:30 respectively each day and day

To the success of the Campo Grande Athletics athlete, who already won the cross country title a little over a month ago, the silver medals of the young sub 18 Albergo Mangas were added.

The AVIVA man from Salamanca confirmed the good sensations shown a few weeks ago in Toledo, in the National Autonomous Teams, and achieved second place in the 100 and 200 meters, with a personal best as well (12:82 and 26:56).

Along with them, the performance of Jaime Bartolomé (CD Puentesaúco) from Burgos also stood out in level II, with the gold medal in the 800 meters.

The Spanish Athletics Championship was held in the city of Jerez with the presence of 49 clubs from 13 different autonomous communities, and a total of 164 athletes in the male category and 60 in the female category.

The good performance of Adrián Parras makes his participation in the World Championships almost certain, which will be held in the French town of Vichy from June 2 to 11 at the Global Games.
