The athlete from Valladolid aspires to become king of mud in the 5,000-meter event
Adrián Parras will be one of the favorites this Saturday, February 11, to become the best cross country athlete of the season in Spain.
The young Valladolid middle-distance runner will lead the Castilian and Leonese expedition in the Spanish Cross Country Championship of the Spanish Federation of Sports for the Intellectually Disabled (FEDDI).
The competition, which is held in the Magdalena Peninsula, in Santander, will feature Parras and Diego Postigo (Campo Grande Athletics), as well as the athletes from CD Puentesaúco: Jesús López, Miguel González, Bernard Iulian (sports skills); and Guillermo Crespo and David Alonso (adapted level).
The Campo Grande athletes will participate in the absolute competition, starting at 12:30 pm; and in a layout of 5,000 meters.
Adrián Parras: «Paris 2024? Why not? Whatever it is, you have to try.”
To the aspirations of Parras, those of Postigo are also added, since the Segovian is another of the best middle-distance runners of the Federation of Adapted Sports of Castilla y León (Fedeacyl).
For their part, the athletes from Burgos’ Puentesaúco, in the case of the participants in the sports skills category, will compete in a 1,000-meter course; while those of adapted level will do it in a circuit of 3,000 meters.
The Santander Spanish Championship will have 160 athletes belonging to 18 clubs, including both Castilians and Leonese.
