Adriana Lima, the 41-year-old model, who was Victoria’s secret angel from 1999 to 2018, was chosen as the first-ever FIFA Global Fan Ambassador by the apex body of football.
The FIFA president Gianni Infantino was elated to appoint the supermodel as the new ambassador. He said Adriana was the perfect person to take up the role and she ‘lives and breathes football’.
“When you get to meet Adriana, you feel right away her warmth, kindness, and how approachable and passionate she is about our game,” Infantino said while the announcement.

“She lives and breathes ‘futebol’ and that is also why she can be an excellent link between FIFA and fans worldwide,” he added.
FIFA released a statement depicting the role of Lima in her new role. The Brazilian will be in charge of the improvement of the global game and her role is to “develop, promote and participate in several global initiatives involving fans from all over the world.”
She was visibly ecstatic with her new duties as the Global Fan Ambassador.
“Coming from a more than modest background and being a football fan, I am very thankful and honoured to have been chosen by FIFA to be the first Global Fan Ambassador,” she said after her appointment.
