Aerosmith brings farewell tour to Bay Area, L.A. with cool opening act

Aerosmith has announced dates for its final tour.

So get ready to say goodbye to one of the most popular rock ‘n’ roll acts of all time when the Boston bad boys launch their Peace Out tour in September.

Aerosmith will be performing a trio of dates in the Golden State — Dec. 1 at Chase Center in San Francisco, Dec. 4 at SAP Center in San Jose and Dec. 7 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood (Los Angeles area).

The Black Crowes, another highly acclaimed and platinum-certified American rock act, certainly makes for a formidable opening act on the tour.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. May 5, ticketmaster.com.

“Fans will see one of the most significant American rock bands in history one last time during this not-to-be-missed final tour,” according to a news release. “Every night will celebrate the five decades of Aerosmith’s groundbreaking hits as they celebrate 50 years as America’s greatest rock band.”

Drummer Joey Kramer will not be performing on the tour.

‘“While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health,” the band said in a statement. “Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”
