aespa has set yet another impressive record with their new album!
On May 8 at 6 p.m. KST, aespa returned with their third mini album “MY WORLD” along with the title track “Spicy.” According to Hanteo Chart, aespa’s “MY WORLD” sold 1,372,929 million copies on just the first day of the album’s release.
aespa is the third K-pop girl group ever to surpass 1 million album copies sold on the first day. Previously, BLACKPINK‘s second studio album “BORN PINK” achieved 1.01 million albums sold, and LE SSERAFIM’s first studio album “UNFORGIVEN” recently broke that record on May 2 with 1.02 million copies sold. With this new record, aespa is now the girl group that has sold the most amount of albums on the first day in K-pop history.
Only just one day of the album’s release, aespa has already achieved the second-highest first-week sales. Currently, BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” is first with 1.54 million copies, followed by aespa’s “MY WORLD,” LE SSERAFIM’s “UNFORGIVEN” (1.19 million copies), aespa’s “Girls” (1.12 million copies), and IVE’s “I’ve IVE” (1.1 million copies).
Ahead of their comeback, aespa also broke their personal record for stock pre-orders with 1.8 million copies, recording the second highest number of stock pre-orders in K-pop girl group history.
