The second-biggest show under the All Elite Wrestling promotion will debut within ten days from now and Khan was ecstatic to announce that he could have secured CM Punk for the main event match on the debut episode.

As revealed by Khan, CM Punk & AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR vs. ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe & Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Juice Robinson) in a Trios Match will be the main event of the first AEW Collision episode.

Going into Dynamite, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp did indicate that Punk was reportedly working with FTR in a tag team scenario. A pitch was also there about a possible Punk vs. Joe feud to kick off following this trios match.

Meanwhile, this upcoming bout will be the former AEW World Champion’s first match since All Out 2022 where he won the title for the second time in his career after defeating Jon Moxley in the main event.

After that match, Punk went on a rant during the post-show media scrum of the PPV, leading to a locker room altercation featuring him, Ace Steel, The Elite, and some of the AEW talent relations crew.

The aftermath reports claimed that Punk wasn’t comfortable working with some of the talents. Soon after the incident he also had to vacate the AEW World Championship while The Elite vacated the AEW tag trios title.

Following that fallout, CM Punk was a must-needed name to draw numbers and tickets for AEW Collision but reports from Wrestling Observer Radio suggest that ticket selling isn’t that good despite his involvement.

AEW Collision debut episode is set for Saturday, June 17 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Interestingly, the show is yet to be sold out despite this city serving as the hometown for the headliner, CM Punk.

Wrestling Observer also noted that there have been no announcements of broadcasting about AEW Collision in the UK or Canada despite a number of shows scheduled from there in the future. Currently, the listed episodes stand as follows:

AEW Collision: Saturday, June 24 – Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

AEW Collision: Thursday, June 29 – FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

AEW Collision: Saturday, July 8 – Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

AEW Collision: Saturday, July 15 – Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

AEW Collision: Saturday, July 22 – Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey
