MANILA, Philippines–Stallion-Laguna couldn’t get back at Bali United and fell to a 5-2 away defeat Wednesday in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium.
Jayvee Kallukaran and Finn McDaniel scored for the Horsemen but those came after conceding four goals, two in each half, during the game held in one of Southeast Asia’s top tourist attractions.
The scoreline equaled that of the previous meeting between the two sides in Binan, Laguna.
Stallion remained at the bottom of Group G with just one point in five matches on one draw and four defeats.
The Horsemen host group leader Central Coast Mariners of Australia on Dec. 13 at Binan Football Stadium to wrap up their continental debut.
Stallion trailed 2-0 at the half after allowing I Made Andhika Wijaya and Mohammed Rashid to score for Bali United in the 23rd and 33rd minutes.
Elias Dolla and Eber Bessa added two more goals for Bali United in the second half before Kallukaran scored for Stallion in the 69th.
McDaniel produced his third goal of the competition eight minutes later to close the gap at 4-2 but Bali United struck the final score on Jefferson Assis near stoppage time.
